The BlackBerry Torch 9800, which will be the first in this popular line of smartphones to offer a Touchscreen and a sliding keyboard. It is also going to be the first with BlackBerry OS 6.0 which is going to bring really significant changes, making devices running it more competitive against Apple's iPhone and smartphones running Google's Android OS.
The design for the Torch 9800 starts with a 3.2-inch 360x480 capacitive touchscreen. Below this is an optical trackpad and the usual set of control buttons. Behind this will sit a portrait-oriented sliding keyboard with 35 keys.
The BlackBerry Torch 9800's 1,300 mAHr battery, which provides 5.5 hours of GSM talk time, is roughly on par with the Droid Incredible, which is to say that it's not spectacular. Even the Blackberry Bold 9700 provides six hours of talk time, and 38 hours of music playback, compared to 30 hours for the Torch. Blackberry phones won't be the best choice for road warriors if the phone can't work overtime.
