The PA-RB016 is specially designed to replace original Blackberry Torch 9850 battery. Since RIM company has special built-in chip inside the battery, it makes other third party's battery non compatible with the Blackberry Torch 9850 phone. To solve the chip problem, the PA-RB016 also comes with a decoder. Just put PA-RB016 in the slot marked "New Battery" and the original battery in the slot marked "Original Battery" and proceed with the procedures listed in back of decoder, then the battery is decoded and the PA-RB016 can works perfectly with Blackberry Torch 9850 phone.
